about

Enigmatic objects, empty apartments and barren landscapes are recurring motifs in David Sprenger’s captivating acrylic paintings. His works are characterized by clearly defined edges, carefully selected perspectives, and high-contrast shading to achieve a strict visual order within an uncanny setting. He employs these abandoned buildings and unfamiliar structures set in hostile deserts, devoid of people, to establish a contrast to the human egocentricity so often celebrated in modern society.

Combining elements of both Surrealism and Minimalism he conjures up dream-like worlds that draw the viewer in and make them wonder. The self-taught artist was born in Liechtenstein. His works are currently part of private collections in the US, Spain, Great Britain, Norway, Austria and Kuwait.”
